Sparksheet, the award-winning online media and marketing magazine, is looking for a paid editorial intern to work in our Montreal office. The candidate will collaborate with Sparksheet’s editor to create, curate and edit content on the future of journalism, the business of social media, the humanization of branding and everything in between.
Journalism students, recent graduates, and anyone with relevant writing and editorial experience will be considered. The candidate should be passionate about the Web and excited about the ongoing transformation of media. A background in marketing isn’t required, but an interest in engaging with the world of online business is.
Sparksheet is published by Spafax, the custom content company behind Air Canada’s enRoute magazine and based in the heart of Montreal’s Plateau neighbourhood.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of journalism, marketing, design, entertainment, technology and travel, with opportunities for long-term involvement.
The editorial intern will:
-Pitch story ideas
-Write editorial features
-Curate and write regular news roundups
-Upload, tag and categorize content on our CMS
-Research photos and images to accompany posts
-Conduct interviews with top industry thinkers
-Help maintain our presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social networks
-Play an active role in evolving the editorial vision of Sparksheet
Compensation: The intern will work up to 28 hours per week, and earn an honorarium of $500 per month (or academic credit). The internship will run from mid-April to mid-August.
