GoGo News Internship - paid

GoGoNews is looking for a Content Development Intern for the summer of 2011. GoGoNews is an online news platform aimed at children between the ages of 5-12. GoGoNews was born out of a desire to inform children of the world around them in an educational and non-threatening way. The intent is to provide children with general knowledge as well as a consciousness and awareness of the world, regardless of geography or culture.

The successful candidate must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an under-graduate Journalism program. Furthermore, the candidate must posses the skills and flexibility to tailor the content to children. Past experience working with children in a professional setting is preferred but not necessary. The successful candidate must be an organized, self-starter, and detail oriented individual with the enthusiasm to be a part of this rapidly growing organization.

Duties of the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Content research
  2. Writing and editing of news articles
  3. Coordinating with foreign consultants for content purposes
  4. Monitoring daily events, and filtering the age appropriate content
  5. Developing new sections and topics to include in GoGoNews

The successful candidate will be required to work 20-30 hours a week. The number of hours may vary depending on the level of initiative the candidate shows. If hours decrease or increase significantly, the candidate’s pay will be adjusted accordingly.

This is a paid internship. The salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
