Eye Weekly - unpaid

EYE WEEKLY

EYE WEEKLY SEEKS EMERGING WRITERS AND EDITORS

Are you an up-and-coming journalist seeking experience in the field? Eye Weekly is now recruiting full-time interns for our spring-summer session, which runs from the beginning of May until the end of August.

Job posting: Editorial Intern, Eye Weekly

Start date: May 1st

Application deadline: April 8th

Eye Weekly’s newly enhanced four-month, full-time editorial internship program is a fantastic crash course in magazines and the magazine industry. Our goal is to give emerging writers and editors the experience and knowledge they need to launch their careers.

Eye Weekly’s interns are involved in the creation of each issue – through fact-checking, compiling listings, conducting research, writing and generating story ideas. Applicants to the program should have a keen interest in the city, be organized and detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills.

In addition to their weekly duties, interns will attend story meetings and regularly liaise with Eye Weekly’s writers and editors, who will mentor successful applicants over the course of their term. While our interns are unpaid, we strive to provide them with many opportunities to expand their skills and strengthen their knowledge of the industry. Think of it as a full-time journalism course – but way more fun.
