PR Specialist Internship (Unpaid) – Part time or Full time
About Us:
CPG Connect (http://cpgconnect.ca), is a combination Job Board and Business Networking site for the Consumer Goods and Retail industry in Canada. CPG Connect launched in July 2009 and has quickly grown to become the #1 site for the Consumer Goods & Retail industry in Canada. The site now works with over 230 of the large Consumer Goods and Retail companies, has regular site traffic of over 10,000 unique visitors per month and has had over 9,000 professionals join the site as members.
This summer, CPG Connect is looking to start promoting our expertise in recruiting and the Consumer Goods industry by writing and publishing interesting articles. We are looking to hire a PR Specialist to spearhead this initiative.
Duration: May - August
Hours/Week: Part-time (20 hours per week) or Full-time (40 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
Working closely with the President, spearhead and execute a comprehensive PR strategy for CPG Connect to showcase CPG Connects’ subject matter expertise, to engage CPG Connect members, to increase SEO rankings and to garner media attention for CPG Connect. Specific duties will include:
- Brainstorm various topics that CPG Connect can take a position on
- Research topics and write articles that will then be posted on CPG Connect and shared with media partners
- Create a comprehensive PR strategy including media outlets to target for article publications etc.
- Liaise with publications and members of the media to garner media attention for CPG Connect
Qualifications:
- University or college students with an academic background in Journalism
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong telephone skills
- Strong research skills and interest in technology
- Self starter, detailed oriented and team player
- Comfortable with Microsoft office
- Must have their own computer, internet and phone
Remuneration:
- This is an unpaid internship
Job Location:
- CPG Connects’ office is located in Markham (Hwy 48 & Hwy 7)
- Work from home option available
