Seeking host for indie music website
If you are interested in indie music journalism, read on.
We're looking for someone to be the 'host' of an upcoming interview series on Side B - www.thesideb.com. Over the past, we've conducted interviews with bands like Broken Social Scene, Caribou, Jamie Lidell, Tokyo Police Club, Washed Out, The Antlers, Local Natives, Titus Andronicus, The New Pornographers, Sloan, F*cked Up, Japandroids, The Dodos, among many others.
We are changing our video format, and would like a new host to interview artists, and be a sort of Ira Glass (This American Life) for the web series. Instead of MTV-style interviews, we will be making short music documentary-style videos, and are looking for a voice.
You would need to have a flexible schedule that would allow for 2-4 hours per week, usually weeknights. (Since interviews are sporadic, we do them any day of the week.) There is no pay at the moment, but it could possibly lead to a paid position in the future.
Ideally I am looking for someone who is:
- interested and knowledgeable about indie and alternative music
- Comfortable and experienced on camera
- Comfortable and experienced conducting interviews with artists
- Able to write creatively, and construct journalistic pieces out of artist interviews
- Mature, organized, and reliable
