The Vancouver Sun - paid summer internship

The Vancouver Sun
Internship Program
May – August 2010

The Vancouver Sun is seeking applications for its 2010 internship program.

The four-mouth program starts May 1 and offers fully paid reporting positions in the newsroom. Interns work almost exclusively filing general assignment news on weekend, evening and deadline shifts. They also prepare investigative reports and write features or contextual pieces.

Our interns are multi-platform journalists, equally comfortable preparing audio and video files as they are updating and filing to deadline for print or web.

Successful candidates will quickly assume considerable responsibility and must be efficient hardworking reporters with sounds news judgment. We are looking for creative, enterprising people – young journalists who can take the initiative and recognize story, photo and web opportunities for the Sun.

Local knowledge and language proficiency in Punjabi, Cantonese or Mandarin are assets, but not required.

If you are interested in working for one of the country’s largest-circulation dailies to grow readership and help us make vancouversun.com the leading news website in Canada, please apply including the names and daytime contact information of references.

Applicants should send a cover letter, CV and clippings marked “Internship” by Friday, Nov. 20 to:
