JOB DESCRIPTION - Role and Responsibilities

Reuters seeks a talented student journalist with a flair for multimedia to work as an intern in Toronto for the online newsroom during the summer of 2010. There is nothing like the constant deadline of an online news organization to hone your writing and multimedia skills. The ten-week paid internship is a crash course in hands-on multimedia reporting and producing. A Reuters internship offers student journalists a global audience of media outlets, financial decision-makers and savvy internet readers totaling more than a billion people every day.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS - Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience


Please provide the following information:
• Seniors and Graduate students
• All applicants should have an interest in business journalism
• Previous journalism internships preferred
• Foreign languages helpful
• Multimedia skills

To be considered for the Journalism Internship Program, please follow these instructions.

Application must include the following:
1. Resume
2. Cover Letter- No longer than 1 page, double spaced in Microsoft Word
3. Three-Five Clips
4. Two letters of Reference- Please have your references email their letters directly to uscandidatesupport@thomsonreuters.com

• Please note that all of the requirements above should be attached to your application when you apply at online on the Thomson Reuters career site (not including letters of reference).

How to Apply:

Go to www.thomsonreuters.com and click on the “Careers” link near the top of the page. Once there, click on the “select a location” link on the right side of the page and select United States.

A new window will appear, please click on the “Show Search Criteria” link so that you may search for the internship posting.

In the search criteria, select “News/Editorial” for the Job Field category.
Next, under Organization, select “Financial and Media” then “Markets Editorial” in the next drop down menu.

Last, select the location where you would like to apply for the internship Please click on Toronto.
