Editorial Intern position available at The Mark
The Mark is looking for a part-time editorial intern who is familiar with the big issues, ideas, and individuals in the Canadian and international media landscapes.
An understanding of arts, business, technology, economics and pop culture news would also be an asset.
The job combines research, chase production, story pitching, and interviewing under the direction of our Senior Editor. This is a good opportunity to develop a range of journalistic skills in a vibrant and fast-paced team environment.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated interest in journalism
* Ability to craft interesting story ideas and to make them accessible to a broad audience
* Well-developed news sense and editorial judgment
* Confidence on the phone
* Excellent communication skills
* Good research skills
Additional Information:
* All candidates should be self-driven university students or recent grads who can thrive in a team environment.
* Part-time position: minimum 25 hours/week
* Position comes with a monthly stipend
* Start date: ASAP
