Online Content Associate – Sympatico.ca (Internship)

Remuneration: approx $700 – 750/wk based on experience
Job Description:
A great learning opportunity for a student who is interested in contributing to Sympatico.ca – the country’s leading Internet portal that reaches more than 20 million Canadians online.
Our ideal candidate would possess; a passion for online content in all of its forms (text, images, audio, video and interactive), good knowledge of the web and the current state of online content in Canada and the US and a keen interest in the user experience of online material
This placement would involve the following challenges:
Discussing the content objectives of each channel with the Content Managers, Sourcing appropriate content from our Content Partners, Editing content for space and format, Augmenting the content with complementary photos or graphics, Adding this content into our state of the art Content Management System (CMS) and promoting it through various entry points, Discussing the performance of these content elements on a weekly basis with the Content Managers in order to learn and improve our overall user experience and Developing/maintaining reports that capture key metrics.
Skills Required:
Strong editorial skills and experience, knowledge/experience editing web content and working with content management systems, solid copywriting abilities, grammatical accuracy and attention to detail, working knowledge of Photoshop and publishing tools, ability to oversee authoring and upload of web content using a proprietary web content management system, capacity to work effectively with internal and external clients, strong written and verbal communication skills in English and strong interpersonal and organizational skills
