Job title:
Editorial intern for the Spring months (January, February, March, April 2012) for www.29secrets.com, an online publication that targets Canadian women. The content of the site focuses on: beauty, relationships, fashion and wellness.
Expected hours per week:
To be determined, approximately 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule. Note: only Greater Toronto Area-based candidates will be considered.
Remuneration:
To be determined based on skill set and qualifications
Duties of the job:
To provide editorial support to the 29secrets team. This will include adding links to stories, photo research, pitching story ideas, writing service articles in beauty, fashion, relationships and wellness and writing blog posts. You may also be required to work on social media outreach, attend occasional events on behalf of 29secrets and organize contests and promotions.
Skills and experience expected of a successful candidate:
1. Ideal candidate will either possess, or be working toward, a degree in journalism and/or publishing.
2. Must have impeccable grammar and great eye for detail.
3. Strong research and writing skills are musts.
4. Some web experience, although not necessary, is an asset.
5. A keen interest in (and understanding of) pop culture and women’s beauty and fashion trends.

29Secrets.com is an online publication that targets Canadian women across four main pillars: beauty, relationships, style and wellness. The site was founded in 2009 by Maple Media and operates from downtown Toronto. 29Secrets.com is a wholly-owned Maple Media site, is the fastest-growing women's beauty site in Canada, with over 100,000 monthly unique visitors.
