Job title – Content and Social Media Provider
RaptorsHQ.com, (www.raptorshq.com) the web’s only accredited Toronto Raptors’ fan site, is looking for students interested in a career in sports journalism and social media to intern with the site. Position would require about 10 hours of commitment a week and while the position is unpaid at present, site can provide press access to the team, and remuneration is possible in the future.
Duties:
- You will be actively involved in the site, producing content of various types, and discussing the Toronto Raptors’ basketball team on a daily basis
-Bulk of content will be via written submissions (1 to 2 blog posts per week) regarding games; previews and summaries of matches specifically, but also live-blog participation during games
- Publishing articles on social networking and bookmarking sites, as well as other associated responsibilities such as interviewing and working with members of the Toronto Raptors Basketball Club
Qualifications:
* Excellent grasp of English language
* Excellent written and communication skills
* Passion for writing, online environment and game of basketball
* Training will be provided on how to post articles for our site, but applicants should be fairly familiar with online environment
* Good knowledge of social networking practices and familiarity with sites and tools like Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare
* Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines, some of which will be quite short at times
Additional Assets:
* Video/audio editing experience
* Web analytics experience
* Previous press experience
