The Road to Dago is a documentary film that highlights the struggle of one woman living with HIV/AIDS in Western Kenya.
The documentary highlights the issues of polygamy and wife inheritance that plague rural Kenya and contribute to the spread of the disease. This is not another “AIDS in Africa” story, it is a story that focuses on the change that IS happening and the progress being made in this small community thanks to an inspirational woman.

We are looking for an editor to help us clean up a rough cut that we have already laid down on a timeline.
The editor will begin working on this by the 1st of November, so applicants must apply by October 28th with a cover letter and link to previous editing work.
The required hours depend on the skill level and pace of the editor. If the chosen applicant does not have FCP 7 at home, they can edit using Ryerson’s facilities since we have started the project using FCP 7 and Ryerson’s RCC mac lab has this software and would be compatible with our hard-drive.
The duties include:
-fixing audio glitches
-building scenes using already captured footage
-stylizing final look
-adding text and MINOR graphics
-contributing ideas to finalized story structure
This job is unpaid, but is a great opportunity for any editors or technical people looking to build on their resumes. The documentary is going to be circulated in Canada, the US and Kenya through film festivals. We are also planning private screenings in the GTA to raise awareness about the AIDS epidemic in Western Kenya. Your name will be on a documentary that is going to reach a wide audience and hopefully change the lives of some women in rural Kenya.
