On-Air Host Opportunity - Junior A This Week Auditions
Jr A This Week is returning for a third exciting season and we're looking for a host to anchor the studio portion of the program. Needless to say, you must be a hockey nut and bring insightful knowledge and enthusiasm to the show.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Host should have some television experience or knowledge; enrolment or graduation from an accredited post-secondary
institution with a broadcasting degree/ diploma is preferred, but not necessary.
- The ability to improvise with guests on set.
- Passion and knowledge of all levels of hockey is a definite plus.
- Volunteer must have access to transportation, in order to get to the Newmarket Studio every Monday from 5:00pm – 6:00pm.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Ability to read scripts from the teleprompter with ease and personality
- 100% commitment to hosting every Monday from Sept. 20th to late March or early April depending on playoff schedule.
- Must have strong interviewing skills as playoff format with include guests and panel discussions.
- Must be a team player. Follow direction and be able to take constructive criticism in order to grow as an on-air host.
- All volunteers must complete and sign a volunteer consent form; new volunteers must participate in a
mandatory volunteer orientation session as well as training sessions with the producer.
If you are currently assigned to a program, you must consult with Michelle Lynch before accepting a position with Jr A This Week.
All volunteer positions will be re-evaluated at the end of 2011.

(395A Mulock Drive – behind the Town of Newmarket municipal offices).
