CANFAR Communications & Public Relations - unpaid

Communications & Public Relations Internship
Internship Dates: August 30, 2010 to December 23, 2010
Reports to: Communications and Marketing Manager

This is an exciting time to be an intern at the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research! We are searching for a talented individual who is eager to work on ground-breaking campaigns, as CANFAR races to the leading edge in the non-profit sector.

CANFAR is the national charity dedicated to ending AIDS by supporting Canadian research.

This is a full-time unpaid internship (four month commitment, extendable). As such, we recognize the importance of making sure it is a valuable experience.

We provide quality mentorship; continual opportunities for learning, including workshops with industry experts; flexible hours; and assistance with finding work in the field (CANFAR is well-connected, and interns have moved on to exciting roles within the industry.)

If working across all mediums on powerful campaigns motivates you, and working on a cause that is truly important makes you spring out of bed in the morning – we want to speak with you.

Must-have skills:
- Excellent writing skills;
- Computer aptitude, from Microsoft Office to Facebook; and
- Strong interpersonal skills.

If you have these, you’re a rock star:
- Experience with media relations;
- Social media experience;
- Project management experience;
- Exposure to graphic design (Adobe Suite) or web design;
- Bilingualism.

Send a cover e-mail indicating why you’d be a brilliant fit for CANFAR, along with your resume and three writing samples, to Holly Bacchus, Communications and Marketing Manager at hbacchus@canfar.com no later than Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
