Women’s news website seeks journalism or communications student.
WOMEN MAKE NEWS.com is an op-ed section for women on line that publishes opinion and editorials by women about news and issues, as well as personal journalism. The site is planning on growing its readership and content in the next nine months.
Intern’s responsibilities are flexible, open to the student’s desires or needs and could include:
• researching potential contributors and soliciting editorial contributions.
• writing of squibs or Q&A interviews
• social media management and messaging
• proofing and copyediting text
Work could be done at Toronto location or off-site and supervised by an editor who trained several writers with the Chatelaine writing internship program.
Please send a short email explaining interest, plus resume and writing samples -- if applicable to editor@womenmakenews.com
