Location: Calgary, Alberta
Duration: 6 months
Stipend: $1525 / per month
up! magazine—WestJet Airlines’ award-winning in-flight publication—is seeking a Web Intern.
This position requires that you have a passion for the Web. You’ve got a Twitter, Facebook and other social networking accounts (an early adopter would be best). You have an understanding of search engine optimization and programming (HTML, CSS and a little PHP). You know what a pixel is and can resize a photo. You are a blogger (or a writer or even a journalist). You want to learn and play a part in creating a successful website.
Responsibilities:
* Project manage several campaigns, including search engine optimization, design, development, etc.
* Writing and uploading travel stories and other content
* Assist in editing, proofing and fact-checking editorial content for the website
* Assist in all activities on the site (contests, blogs, videos, etc.)
* Engage with the community through social media
* Develop promotional materials and write copy for website and campaigns
Qualifications:
* Post-secondary education
* Online leadership experience
* Experience with a CMS (Drupal), programming languages, Photoshop, InDesign, Office and various Mac suites
* Bonus points if you can edit video
