Job Title: Over Bounds International Journalist - Vietnam

Type: Unpaid, journalist must be willing to fund their own travel and expenses, but we are willing to credit back $300 upon successful completion of work.
Over Bounds was founded by a former Ryerson journalism student. It is a non-profit organization that helps women and children who have been adversely affected by civil war. This summer our members are volunteering in Hanoi, Vietnam at a hospital as well as a rehabilitation clinic for children affected by Agent Orange. The goal is to show our members that the effects of civil war are long lasting.
We are looking for a broadcast journalism student interested in documenting our trip. Aside from documenting our time there, there are plenty of other stories that need to be told since Northern Vietnam is the poorer region of the nation. Stories produced will be published on our website as well as Youtube and the student is encouraged to pitch their finished pieces elsewhere.
Cost: $2980 for the duration above. This includes a $1800 plane ticket, $100 entry VISA, accommodations, all food, orientation, and travel and medical insurance. $300 will be refunded upon successful completion of your work. If the successful candidate wishes to stay in Vietnam longer than the duration above, the student is reponsible for his/her own living expenses beyond Sept. 8th.
Hours: Flexible.
The Ideal Candidate:
-Is interested in international travel and getting experience in international journalism
-Has sound news judgment and is able to tell a story with film in a documentary style
-Has taken at least one broadcast journalism class
-Be versatile; he/she must be able to be camera person and reporter (and possibly producer and video editor too)
-Must be willing to travel and accompany the group and film our time there
-Must have an active passport
-Be willing to pay the trip fee ($300 will be refunded after successful completion of work)

Be sure to specify your role in the creation of the piece (if you were producer, video editor, reporter, cameraman, etc.) Try to pick a piece that shows your ability to tell a story through broadcast.
