Copy Editor
Description: The copy editor will be responsible for editing all print and online copy, editing for length and clarity as well as sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, etc. The copy editor will also write headlines and decks and select pull quotes for articles. The copy editor will help develop and maintain an Urbanology specific style guide.
Type: Unpaid Internship
Qualifications:
• Experience working for print or online publication as copy editor or proofreader
• Keen interest in and knowledge of urban culture
• Strong knowledge of CP Style Guide
• Organized and deadline conscientious
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Commitment:
• 10 to 12 hours a week from office and home
• 1 Year Period
• Exclusivity to Urbanology Magazine from any other “urban” print or online publication
• Attendance at bi-weekly editorial meetings 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays
