Staff Writer
Description: Journalist who takes on 1 to 3 article assignments at a time for print or online publications in the form of features, short features, profiles, interviews, reviews, columns, event coverage or service articles.
Type: Unpaid Internship
Qualifications:
• Experience working for print or online publication as writer/reporter
• Strong writing and interviewing skills
• Keen interest in and knowledge of urban culture
• Highly resourceful
• Organized and deadline conscientious
• Ability to think creatively and develop relevant story ideas
Commitment:
• 1 to 3 articles at any given time based on deadline, workload, availability and type of assignment
• 1 Year Period
• Exclusivity to Urbanology Magazine from any other “urban” print or online publication as well as exclusivity to not take same assignment or write duplicate article for non-urban publication
Ideal For:
• Journalism students or graduates aiming to build portfolio, gain valuable experience and work in open, exciting environment covering urban culture and lifestyle
• Experienced journalists passionate about having an urban outlet to express their writing
• High school / youth with knowledge of and keen interest in journalism, publications and urban culture
