NEWS REPORTER/PHOTOGRAPHER
THE DAILY GRAPHIC and CENTRAL PLAINS HERALD-LEADER in Portage la Prairie, Man., seek a full-time news reporter with strong writing and photography skills to join our team. A passionate interest in the news is essential, particularly social issues. The successful candidate will be a team player in the newsroom and in the community. Applicants must feel confident in meeting tight deadlines in a daily news environment whose focus is on web-first reporting.
This job also requires the individual be able to take digital photographs using professional SLR cameras and have some knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. Layout skills are a definite asset as is a familiarity with online reporting.
The reporter must live in Portage and have reliable transportation, but will use the newspaper¹s camera equipment. This is a salaried position with benefits and paid vacation.

Portage la Prairie is a city of 13,000 people, with a rural population of an additional 7,000. It is located 75 kilometres west of Winnipeg, in fertile, farming country. The Daily Graphic and Herald-Leader have a combined circulation of almost 15,000.
