Ryerson Rams Camera Operator/Editor - part-time, paid

Position Description:
Within the Sports Information Office for Ryerson Athletics and Recreation, you will work closely with the Sports Information Coordinator to create video content for the Athletics and Recreation web site including game highlights, game previews, interviews and news features.

Specific On-Air Reporter duties include:
• Report on camera as a presenter of sports and recreation news
• Gather information to produce stories and other content in a manner that is clear, accurate, relevant and informative
• Assist with pre/post production
• May also be assigned other duties as required to assist with completion of special projects/events within Athletics and Recreation

Required Qualifications:
• Full-time Ryerson University student, Work-study eligible
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous on camera reporting, writing or journalism experience required
• Solid organizational skills
• Strong knowledge of on camera and broadcasting techniques (i.e. lighting, audio) as well as editing software (Final Cut, Premiere)
• Strong knowledge of sports including rules of the game, statistical information and sport specific vocabulary
• Detailed oriented with an aptitude for statistics
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Available to work evenings and weekends

SPECIAL NOTE: Portfolio of on camera work required with application

Compensation: $10.75/hr

Work Hours: 10-15 hours/week
Start Date: August 2009
End Date: March 2010
