RetirementHomes.com is North America's largest
online senior housing directory (you can think of it as a Yellow Pages for
senior living communities and retirement homes). We have about 30,000 listings
of communities on our website; mostly in the US and Canada.
We are seeking up to 20 talented writers (new grads
and/or current students are welcome) to re-write the descriptions for the
various retirement communities on RetirementHomes.com.
Each of our listings has a short introduction, and
a full description. Example: http://www.retirementhomes.com/homes/Detailed/Kendal_At_Ithaca_L20242.html
We are looking to re-write the listings to A/ Make
them more appealing to prospects who read them (seniors and their families),
and B/ Keep our website current.
We are looking for:
1/ A 75 word (approx.) introduction to the
community
2/ A 400-500 word description of the
community.
It's important the writers hit the important
aspects, such as the type of care offered (assisted living, active living,
Alzheimer's, etc., as well as atmosphere, location, amenities, programs,
lifestyle, etc. Information about the communities can be found from the
community websites that I will send the writers. No travel at all is required,
and work can be done from anywhere. Writers simply need to get the relevant
information from the communities' websites, which will be sent to them.
We are willing to pay $10 per completed description.
Each description has to be completely unique. We
will be checking all copy for plagiarism, so while writers can use the
retirement community's website for details, etc., they must be careful to use
their own words. We have over 30,000 communities listed on our site so if this
does work out there will be a lot of work for a lot of people to complete these
descriptions.
First, we will ask interested writers to complete 2
initial re-writes, and if the writing fits our needs, we'll give them an
initial batch of 25 more to write. They will send the completed work to us via
e-mail, and we will edit and have posted to RetirementHomes.com.
