About you: You have some writing/blogging/editing experience, you like bikes and you are willing to learn. You have the ability to focus your attention on details. The ideal candidate would also have another job, and have experience working two part-time jobs at the same time.

The editor will produce approximately one or two self-generated stories per month (plus, participate in at least two Bike Spotting sessions) for the dandyBLOG. The editor will edit and upload materials from other contributors to the dandyBLOG or to the dandy Dropbox for our spring/summer issue, as required. The editor will do a lot of copyediting starting in May and ending in early June. Style guide and training provided. You will be working with other editors, photographers and contributors who love bikes.

Leads, story ideas, interview contacts, writer, photographer and illustrator contacts for self-generated stories also provided. Pitches ALWAYS welcome!

The stipend is $200.

You will:
-          Gain experience editing copy for a print publication
-          Gain experience and work samples producing digital content for a magazine
-          Participate in marketing campaigns and events (launch party June 29 is also your last official day for this position)
-          Help increase positive bike culture, especially in Toronto!
-          Get a masthead position/title in our spring/summer 2014 “pedal pride” issue.

Other duties:

SOCIAL MEDIA: The web editors execute social media regularly, according to dandy guidelines. Every story we produce must be posted to Facebook and must be Tweeted twice and is the responsibility of the editor who uploaded that story.

Interested candidates should contact Tammy Thorne at tammy@dandyhorsemagazine.com to arrange an interview.
