Job Posting - Academic Tutor
Evoke Learning is currently recruiting tutors for both immediate and
future needs, in all subject areas and grade levels.
Evoke Learning offers academic coaching, consulting, and tutoring
services for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, as well as those
completing a post-secondary degree. We also specialize in working with students
with learning exceptionalities, students undergoing transitions, and students
who are trying to manage an athletic/academic balance. At Evoke Learning, we work with the whole child, ensuring that we are
utilizing the strengths of the student, while at the same time, assisting them
to devise strategies to navigate through their challenges.
Evoke Learning provides two models of one-on-one tutoring; face-to-face,
and online. Tutors are matched with students based on their individual needs.
The tutor's role is to identify the student's learning gaps, bring them back up
to grade level, and then work ahead, enhancing the student's confidence with
the subject material.
To become a tutor for Evoke Learning, the candidate must:

Have a strong understanding of the curriculum and material for the course(s)
in which he/she is qualified to teach

Be aware of the academic obstacles students with learning
exceptionalities, and executive function weaknesses face
·
Have a strong working knowledge and comfort level in the use of
technology
·
Be able to commit for the entire academic year
·
Undergo a criminal background check
·
Have reliable transportation
Summer
employment opportunities exist as well.
Compensation
for Evoke Learning tutors is between $20-$40/hr, depending on the candidates
credentials and experiences, as well as the client’s location.
