Sparksheet, the award-­winning media and marketing magazine, is looking for a paid editorial intern to work in our Montreal office. The chosen candidate will collaborate with Sparksheet’s editorial and design teams to create, curate and edit content on the future of journalism, the business of startups, the humanization of marketing and everything in between. Journalism students, recent graduates, and anyone with relevant writing and editorial experience will be considered.

The candidate should be passionate about the web and excited about the ongoing transformation of media. A background in business isn’t required, but an interest in engaging with the world of digital marketing is.

Sparksheet is published by Spafax, the international content marketing agency behind Air Canada’s enRoute magazine and based in the heart of Montreal’s Plateau neighbourhood. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of journalism, marketing, design, entertainment,
technology and travel, with opportunities for long-term involvement.

The editorial intern will:

- Pitch and write stories

- Upload, tag and manage content on our CMS

- Research photos and images to accompany posts

- Help maintain our editorial calendar

- Research and conduct interviews with top industry thinkers

- Help maintain our presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social networks

- Play an active role in evolving the editorial vision of Sparksheet

Compensation: The intern will work 15-20 hours per week, and earn an honorarium of $500 per month (or academic credit).

The internship will run from May until the end of August.
