Qualifications:
·         Must have strong writing skills
·         Basic understanding of SEO and social media
·         Analytical skills
·         Ability to use Photoshop
·         Proper grammar and punctuation and keen attention to detail is required
·         Basic understanding of HTML coding and WordPress is an asset
·         Must be an self-motivated and work well in a team environment


Role:
As the Online Intern, you will work closely with the ShawConnect homepage team and managing editors.  You will assist them in updating the site with new and compelling content, observing metrics and optimizing content, and promoting content on Facebook and Twitter.
 
Job description:
·         Assist homepage team and site sections with publishing new content
·         Promote content through social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) 
·         Check metrics regularly and pull numbers for the homepage team
·         Assist as back-up editor to manage ShawConnect’s Money, Music, TV, Travel and Tech sites
·         Help with writing headlines, adding new articles to sites, editing and packaging stories, uploading galleries, and scheduling content to go live
·         Support daily needs of homepage team and managing editors
