Stand Canada is a virtual, not for profit organization that strives to make it easy to act against genocide by creating simple and effective ways for Canadians to take action. Our primary goal is to see Canada become the world leader in stopping genocide, starting with the Darfur region of Sudan.
We are currently in need of a Human Resources Manager and Recruitment and Retention Coordinator who can work as part of the Human Resources team. These are volunteer roles.
Human Resources Manager
Time Commitment: 5-10 Hours/Week
Mission Statement: To develop and manage the systems to recruit, train and retain Stand volunteers, beginning with the National team.
Responsibilities:
• To manage Stand’s recruitment, retainment and succession plan for volunteers, working with the Directors team to understand their team needs.
• To oversee the implementation of the plan, and have ultimate responsibility for the process.
• To oversee and manage Stand’s HR team.
• To act as the first contact for new STAND volunteers.
• To manage the tracking of Stand volunteers once they have started working with the organization.
• To work with the Stand Directors team and directors to troubleshoot HR issues in the organization.

Recruitment and Retention Coordinator
Time Commitment: 5-8 Hours/Week
Mission Statement: To locate new volunteers and find work for Stand National members.
Responsibilities:
• To find volunteers to fill needed positions
• To locate and contact possible applicant pools
• To cultivate relationships with HR staff at other organizations
• To find/create jobs for interested applicants
• To help frustrated volunteers find new roles/fix currently frustrating roles
