The Edmonton Journal is inviting applications for its 2010 summer intern program.
We’re looking for senior level students with a strong interest in daily newspaper reporting.
Interns are expected to file breaking news reports to our website and to produce news stories on deadline. They are also given the opportunity to write fun or in-depth features.
Previous reporting experience and some level of online/multimedia experience would be assets. Night and weekend work is involved, and a driver’s licence is required.
Applicants should send a covering letter, resume and five writing samples. Be sure to include articles that demonstrate a variety of newspaper writing styles, including both features and hard news.
