The LAM editor is seeking up to three journalism students to contribute pre-assigned smaller articles (trends, industry news etc.) for the magazine (front-of-the-book types of stuff) with potential to grow into larger articles for the right individuals. We are also seeking help with copy editing.
Ideally, in addition to having a passion for magazines, and strong writing and copy-editing skills, the successful candidates will also have an interest in sustainable business and green building (one of the fastest growing sectors in the world). This opportunity is probably suited to students in years two and up, but all J-students are welcome to apply.
Work times are flexible and number of hours will depend on assignments (for writing) and an estimated four to eight hours of proof-reading per issue.
While this is a volunteer position, we will reimburse students for cost of long-distance calls (if necessary). We can offer you the opportunity to work with an award-winning journalist and magazine editor, provide bylines for any articles you write, and your name in the masthead with thanks to those who are willing to commit to a few issues.
We are presently working on our next issue and have immediate opportunities for writers with copy editors required in late January and beyond.
Interested applicants are invited to submit your CV along with a few writing samples and tell us why you're interested in volunteering for the Living Architecture Monitor no later than Fri. Dec. 18th to Caroline Nolan, M.Sc., Editor at editor[AT]greenroofs.org.
