Hi Journalism!
RUtv News launched with RUtv last year and did a full weekly newscast that broadcast around Ryerson and online for an entire season! We worked hard, put in long hours and got an invaluable amount of material for our demo tapes, resumes, and hands on-experience. We are proud to say we allowed people from all over RTA discover their writing talents, on-air presence and technical abilities.
And now, we are back for our second season!!!
With the executive team that is guaranteed to push for bigger and better things, RUtv News will do two newscasts a week and short news updates each day. All we need now is to build our crew! With over 20 active participants last season, we produced great results. Now, if we double that, we can beat our own records and everyone’s expectations.
We are having auditions this week and we want YOU to come out and show us if you can work with a creative and quick news team!
Auditions:
When: Wednesday, October 7th
Where: RCC 194 (Practicum Room)
Time: 3-8 pm. First come, first serve basis. A signup sheet with slots will be posted outside the door at 3 pm. Each interview will last 10 minutes.
We are looking for:
Camera Operators
Editors
Writers
Reporters
Studio Crew
Graphic Designers
...and anyone else who think they can contribute with their skills!!
You are welcome to bring examples of your work (samples of writing, demo-reels), but it is not required! RUtv News will be your chance to generate that material and build your portfolio!
Remember: all equipment is provided! We work in HD format! We work together to tutor newcomers and allow them to improve!
We are a tight-knit crew and would love for open-minded, committed and passionate people to join us!
