Is your goal a fulfilling and exciting career in the publishing industry? Do you have the makings of a great editor, a leader in the publishing industry, or a skilled and valued member of the staff of a Canadian magazine?
There’s no better way to stake your claim to this kind of future than by an Internship at a lively magazine. We at AMÖI are pleased to make such opportunities available to a select two to three persons per year.
Our Internships run for four months. Our Interns are involved in the total process of putting out the magazine – from researching stories and fact checking, to selecting images, gathering material and working on subscription and newsstand campaigns. Interns also get involved in event planning and fund-raising.
Because we have a small staff, Interns at AMÖI are given considerable responsibility. They get to work directly with our Publisher, Chioma. Our Interns work three to four days a week. Ability to use a computer is essential.
If you are self-motivated and committed to making a career in publishing, we invite you to apply. Send us a cover letter telling us why you think you’d make good as an Intern at AMÖI, along with a resume and copies of published articles. Preference will be given to candidates who are enrolled in a publishing-related post-secondary course.
Interns must also have editing experience as they will also work on editing material for the magazine.
Internships are on a voluntary basis (sorry, no pay).
