Corporate Communications is responsible
for all corporate-wide communications at RBC, for internal and external
audiences. We manage crisis communications, handle sensitive public issues, and
develop reputational communications that support corporate objectives.
Purpose
- To support the Media Relations department in
protecting and enhancing the reputation of RBC, both as an enterprise and
in its component businesses
Primary Responsibilities
- Creating and updating a comprehensive library of
media contacts, including key social media influencers
- Tracking key media contacts, compiling relationship
building information and keeping the database up-to-date across the entire
Canadian RBC communications team
- Assisting in the creation of an electronic daily
press clippings package for senior executives – note: after successful
training, intern would work the hours of 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Tracking and monitoring traditional media coverage
and analysis related to RBC and issues related to RBC
- Participating in weekly team meetings
- Supporting the media relations team, as required,
including projects such as coverage reports, research reports, drafting
news releases and pitching
- Provide back up for administrative assistant, media
relations, to distribute press releases internally and with Canada
Newswire
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Understanding of financial services industry
- Good writing, research and editing skills
