Structure Research - paid


Job title: Research Assistant

Structure Research is an independent research and consulting firm based in Toronto. We are focused on the business of Internet infrastructure – known in the media as cloud computing. We are looking for a research assistant to do a variety of research tasks, while learning to write about the industry in a research-oriented tone and style. This could be a good fit for someone interested in technology journalism or a career in research. Someone looking for a first job to gain experience and published bylines would be ideal. Preference for candidates graduating soon.

Rate of pay: $10 per hour
Expected hours per week: 10-20 depending on seasonality with the potential for ramp up in the future.
Duties of the job: This job has two main areas of responsibility: 1) data aggregation and entry, maintenance of databases, spreadsheets; 2) writing of news items and summaries based off press releases and other sources.

Skills and experience expected of a successful candidate: Strong writing skills and an interest in writing for very focused industry audience. The writing style is not journalistic and would be more “academic”. An interest in technology and business is a must. If you like writing term papers and are a bit of a geek please apply.
