The Reuters Journalism Program brings together a talented group of journalists-to-be from around the world and provides them nine months of intensive classroom training and hands-on, real-world experience.

Who Are You?

• We’re looking for people who are committed to journalism and its future. You don’t have to be a journalist, but you need to convince us you’re serious about becoming one.

• We want people with a passion for business and international news and who are interested in working globally.

• You can be a recent graduate, a working journalist, or someone with a specialist background – law, medicine, computer science, accounting etc- who wants to start a new career.

• Fluency in English- and the abi8lity to write well and quickly- is a must.

• Advanced language skills- in Arabic, Mandarin, Russian, for example- are an advantage.

• Expertise in data analysis and programming is a plus.

• A Visual eye and multimedia experience will give you an edge.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS AT REUTERS

The Reuters Global Journalism Internships offer talented students and graduates an opportunity to learn and shine in our far-flung bureaus. Train with the world’s largest international multimedia news agency; work with seasoned reporters and editors; prove yourself in fast-paced newsrooms around the world.

The Job

The paid internships are a crash course in hands-on business, political and general news reporting.

Interns will receive several days of formal training before they start work. Each intern will report to a senior editor and be assigned a journalist mentor to provide advice and guidance during the summer. They’re expected to write regularly and deliver in-depth stories during their assignment.

Interns who excel may be considered for other opportunities, including the 9-month Reuters Journalism Program or junior reporting roles.

The Candidate

• You have journalism experience.

• You’re passionate about news and are a quick learner.

• You have a strong background in journalism, economics, business, law, accounting, languages or computer science.

• You are fluent in English and possess excellent writing and communication skills.

• You have good mathematical skills.

The Locations

Americas

Ten weeks/ ten positions in: New York City, Washington D.C., Sao Paulo and Mexico City

Europe

Six weeks/ six positions in: London

Asia

About eight weeks/six positions in: Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Beijing
