eMerge - unpaid

Job Title: Writer/Correspondent for eMerge magazine.

Paid: Unpaid (nobody at the magazine is paid - it's 100% non-profit, as well).

Expected hours per week: 5+

Skills and experience: great writer; ability to research, write, edit own stories on a weekly and/or bi-weekly basis

Experience: not necessary, but preferred.

About eMerge Magazine:

eMerge Magazine is a monthly industry magazine and a derivative of Networks for Change, and is aimed at providing the nonprofit industry with an in-depth look at what is going on in and around the non-profit sector. It is aligned with the Networks for Change guiding mission, and strives to increase communication, efficiency and effectiveness in the non-profit sector and develop a strong community, through the provision of a plethora of diverse, engaging and relevant information to non-profit organization, thus increasing non-profit organizations’ (NPOs) and the general public’s knowledge and understanding of the non-profit community and allowing NPOs and the general public to connect through a multi-media publication.

eMerge Magazine aims to provide a publication that will provide a plethora of diverse information to multiple interested parties, through a variety of media formats. eMerge Magazine will act as a community building mechanism within the non profit sector and, thus, will not only provide NPOs with the information needed to collaborated and be successful in their pursuit of change, it will also provide them with the tools necessary to do so.

eMerge is a not-for-profit magazine, and will be distributed, online, free of charge. The magazine will rely on a dedicated part-time staff for writing, production, organization and distribution. The magazine will have some space for sponsor advertisement, in order to generate revenue for Networks for Change, however the magazine’s primary focus rests solely on producing exemplary, relevant content and promoting a widespread, diverse distribution of the magazine.
