Position Overview
We’re looking for trendy writers with a cool approach and a smidgen of attitude - individuals with their fingers on the pulse of all things chic, with a love for having a blast and exploring city life.
Far more than offering just travel advice, we take readers inside the city they’re reading about, catering to a sharp crowd of nightlife lovers, young professionals and urban travelers.
We provide information on only the coolest, often unconventional things to do in the cities we cover and the neighbourhoods within. Guidance you won’t get from an out-of-touch agent or inside the average travel pocketbook. Things people wouldn’t normally think of, but when they find out about them they say, “Damn, that’s sweet. I need to check that out.”
With unique information on nightlife, trendy restaurants, places to go shopping and off-radar locations, we show our audience places other than the typical tourist-swamped spots everyone already knows about and our audience probably isn’t all that interested in anyway.
Our content is unique, stylish and sassy, and we tell our visitors the straight-up must-see places while in town. No bull.
From our office (located at 630-185 The West Mall, Etobicoke, ON) you’ll be contributing written content to each region featured on our website, searching for hidden gems and revealing them to our audience. Not to mention you’ll be working with other young people who’ve got the same flair for style you do.
This is definitely one sweet gig.
Your Daily Writing Tasks Will Vary, But May Include:
• Blogs
• Editorials
• Event Descriptions
• City and Neighborhood Descriptions
• Fashion and Entertainment Pieces
• Other Static Content in Various Sections of the Website
Requirements:
• Experience in Web Copywriting, Journalism and New Media
• Ability to Produce Intriguing Copy, with Fast Turnaround
• Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization
• An Interest in Popular Culture, Including Entertainment, Fashion and Nightlife
