BuzzBuzzHome News is busy staking out its territory in the new media landscape… so busy, in fact, that we need a talented intern to help us deliver real estate news to millions of screens across North America. At BuzzBuzzHome, our mission is to get valuable information on real estate and residential development out to the public. Our news site is one of the primary tools that allows us to achieve this.
The right news intern will be a social web expert who has a strong opinion about whether Buzzfeed and Mashable are purveyors of fine journalism. Did your tweet about the Oscars go viral? Are you Redditing on a daily basis? We want to hear all about that.
You’ll also need writing skills to back up your social savviness. We’re looking for someone with finely tuned skills who can turn around high quality stories quickly and seamlessly adopt our editorial voice.
While fact checking is important, you won’t be spending your days, red marker in hand, poring over someone else’s work. You’ll be busy creating your own stories, chasing down your own interviews and developing your unique personal style (with the support of our fantastic news team, of course).
Here’s what we expect:
- You’ll be pitching, developing and publishing social content about real estate and related beats. Data is great, but so are stories about people, design and technology. And everybody likes lists, right?
- You’ll monitor local and national market reports and publish data to BuzzBuzzHome News in whichever form makes the most sense.
- You’ll go to industry events where you can meet smart people, sneak a few lobster empanadas and build your reputation as a writer to be reckoned with (and trusted).
- You’ll work with our clients to create smart and sharable stories about a wide range of topics.
It will be a demanding position, but the experience you’ll get will prepare you for the fast-paced, dynamic and forward-thinking media landscape of the future.
This is a four month paid internship beginning in May open to current students and recent graduates.
