The Documentary Organization of Canada

COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING INTERN
Paid/Part-time contract (approx. 2 days a week until end of December with
possibility for renewal to coordinator position and more days in new year)
Start: immediately!
 
The Documentary Organization of Canada is the country's largest professional association of independent documentary filmmakers. DOC Toronto is DOC’s oldest and largest chapter. We offer year round professional development opportunities to emerging and established filmmakers: mentorship programs, networking events, conferences, master classes (www.doctoronto.ca).
 
We are looking for a hard working, multi-faceted individual to join the small head office team at DOC Toronto. We are looking for someone who has:
 
--excellent written communication skills
--proficient layout and design skills
--experience with event promotion and a good grasp on social media tools and strategies
--advanced capabilities with: Excel, Power Point
--easily navigates: InDesign, Photoshop, CMS/HTML, e-mail marketing systems
--excellent oral communication skills/phone manner
 
The Communications and Marketing intern will work closely with DOC Toronto’s Events & Programs Coordinator and DOC Toronto’s Managing Director. They will assist with the following tasks:
 
--event communications and promotions (e-blasts and social media)
--website updates
--preparation of marketing presentations and funding proposals
--occasional research assignments
--day-of event assistance, as required
