dandyhorse magazine is an arts and advocacy magazine for cyclists, based in Toronto with a circulation of 5,000 – 7,000. Our mandate is to encourage and celebrate cycling and urban and environmental initiatives.

Would you like to make a positive contribution to the city’s cycling culture, while gaining valuable on-the-job journalism experience? Then you might like this opportunity to work in the part-time role of Web Editor for Canada’s premier arts and culture magazine for cyclists; dandyhorse.
We’ve recently improved our dandyhorse magazine website dandyhorsemagazine.com and we’ve begun work on our special Spring youth and employment-themed issue due in June.
So we have an exciting core position available immediately: Web Editor.
The Web Editor will work closely with the Editor in Chief, Assistant Editor, the social media team and the production manager and play an integral (masthead) role in Spring issue and will assist in the coordination, creation, maintenance of text and image content for our dandy websites and social media channels. (The incumbent may also have the opportunity to work on dandy’s first tablet-friendly digital issue of dandyhorse.)
The work will start immediately for a term of 4 months, with possibility of renewal or reclassification. This is a work-from-home position with one-hour weekly meetings that will usually be in person at dandy HQ.
The work is 8 – 10 hours per week. The honorarium is $200.
Web Editor Work Elements:
-create content as assigned (write stories, upload text and images to WordPress for dandyhorsemagazine.com)
-participate in Bike Spotting http://dandyhorsemagazine.com/bikespotting
- contribute creative content (ie story) and workflow ideas
-liaise with other dandy contributors on content production/follow up/scheduling
-use Twitter and Facebook t
o promote our dandy content and other relevant bike news and style items
-Monitor and report back customer-generated comments in all digital channels (Facebook, dandyBlog, Community Forums, Twitter etc) to the EIC and production manager
