The Gazette will have a paid 10 week photo internship in the summer of 2012. The start date is slightly flexible, but should be very late May or early June.
Please do not send any photos, videos, or other attachments to me via email. Applicants with video/multimedia clips should send two or three examples of their work on a cd or dvd. Please limit images to between 15-25 jpegs per applicant, sent on the same cd/dvd with captions embedded in the jpegs.
Applicants must have their own vehicles (they will be paid mileage). It is not necessary for applicants to have their own photography equipment, but is definitely preferable to our fairly old pool camera bodies and medium-range lenses. We do have a selection of newer very wide and telephoto (300mm+) Canon lenses our full-time staff and interns share. The Gazette would cover the cost of repairs for any relevant camera equipment damaged during the internship.
This email can be forwarded to anyone who might be interested and will be a student in some part of the 2012 calendar year (to satisfy the academic requirement for the internship intern). The deadline for applications is Friday, February 17, 2012.
