Liveblogging has become the defacto tool for covering breaking news. If you're not hitting the web within seconds of a newsbreak, or a major event, then you're behind the competition. At ScribbleLive, we want j-students to graduate with the skills they need to compete in today’s journalism environment.
That’s where you come in.
You’re an engaged, curious and self-starting j-student. You’re active in social media and know your way around a smart phone. You can type really freaking fast. At ScribbleLive, you’ll get a first-hand look at the tricks of the trade by engaging with all over the planet. You’ll also to hone your liveblog and multi-media skills and meet with leaders from the world’s top j-schools.
ScribbleLive is a Toronto-based startup that powers real-time journalism by making it easy for reporters to post/edit content – including text, photos, videos, social media updates, SMS, voicemail + more – and interact with audiences up-to-the-second. Newsrooms all over the planet use ScribbleLive to cover events in real time.
We recently launched a j-school donation program and are looking for an intern that can help us train professors and j-students to cover events in real time. Other duties will include: Creating instructional videos, offering newsrooms real-time coverage tips and best practices, answering questions and providing support to journalists.
The internship is four months. The position is unpaid, but ScribbleLive will provide an honourarium of $1,000 a month. Bilingualism is an asset but not a requirement
