“Editor” for the Saab Club of Canada monthly newsletter, the Gryphon

The Saab Club of Canada, founded in 1978, is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the owners’ enjoyment of their Saab (motor vehicles, cars, built in Sweden) in a convivial atmosphere. There are about 80 members across Canada, though the majority live close to metropolitan Toronto.
The Gryphon is currently running monthly January to November at 16 pages. However, as the Editor, you would be responsible for determining the current and future direction of the Gryphon. We have been experimenting with on-line publication but would expect to continue with hardcopy publishing for the near future. The newsletter is distributed at monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of the month, except December.
The present format is written in MS Word, but this can be changed. The club would be willing to purchase new software to make putting together the monthly Gryphon a simpler task. Past club member editors have spent between 20 and 30 hours per month, but hopefully with better publishing software (and some publishing knowledge/experience) this can be reduced to half the time and effort.
New monthly content is found on the web from various Saab related web sites. Also, members have contributed many articles about their own motoring experiences. Club events such as driving schools, fun rallies and winery tours are published with photographs. Other new content would be up to the Editor, as long as it is motoring related.
