Position: Full-time, 12-week unpaid internship
The ideal candidate should be a journalism student or graduate seeking a summer internship in a learning atmosphere where portfolio development is attainable. The applicant must have strong writing, interviewing and communication skills and a curious personality. A deep interest in news and a grasp on social media and skill of investigative research is obligatory. Efficiency, speed and ability to meet deadlines is critical in a fastpaced environment. Working knowledge of a MAC environment is desired. Successful interns look forward to exciting assignments, which may include features on celebrities, entrepreneurs and industry experts; PR and broadcast experience. Possible hire once internship is completed.

- Demonstrated ability to produce engaging, active writing with effective interviewing
techniques
- Competency in meeting new challenges with an open mind and an optimistic response;
the ability to take initiative without request or direction
- An understanding of and adherence to Canadian Press Stylebook
- A commitment to delivering quality print, online and press content that meets or
exceeds expectations
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task various assignments for multiple publications
- A knack for pitching fresh story ideas that correspond to vision of publications
- Knowledge and practice of social media sites
- A positive attitude, excellent teamwork approach and eagerness to learn
ASSETS
Copy edit/proofing knowledge
Background and/or interest in broadcasting
Experience editing with Final Cut Pro
Comfortable on camera
Creative eye and factual script writing skills
Public Relations knowledge
