Summer Internship Opportunities
Postmedia Editorial Services in Hamilton is accepting applications from students and recent graduates for our summer internship program. Students will have the opportunity to edit, design and produce the 10 daily major-market newspapers served by PES.
Successful applicants will gain hands-on experience working with a team of veteran editors and designers. Interns will have the opportunity to try their hand at numerous facets of the newspaper business, including editing and page production, working on news, arts, business sports, and online desks. Students must communicate well with others and be able to work independently in a team environment.
Our two paid internships are available from mid-May to the end of August. Applicants must be available to work evenings and weekends in Hamilton.
Copy editing Internship
Students should be self-starters who have a flair for copy editing and headline writing, a solid knowledge of CP style and the ability to work quickly in a deadline-oriented news environment. This is not a reporter position.
Design Internship
Students must have a strong visual sense, and a demonstrated ability to package and present content that invites readers into the stories. Candidates should have skills in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
