Job title: Blogger and social media writers
Travsav and Homesav are two new GTA ecommerce sites that highlight local merchants in the furnishing/life style space and travel area. We are looking for a couple of writers that create the voice of our websites. The writers will be responsible for writing the sites blogs and facebook pages and to help describe local merchants or travel opportunities.
Whether the job is paid: unpaid internship that may lead to full time job when the company is more fully established.
Expected hours per week: part-time / flexible hours as long as job duties are met. We expect this role to take 3 to 4 hours per day.
Duties of the job: We are hoping to publish daily to each blog and to Facebook. We will work with you to develop a list of interesting subjects/topics and you will be expected to research and write about the subject. In addition, we expect you to respond to comments on your blogs/posts and engage with our community. Eventually we may ask you to help create content for merchant related articles.
Skills and experience expected of a successful candidate: We expect the person to be a self starter who is happy to research and write on a variety of subjects. Initially we would expect the person to be able to meet with the team at our offices (at College and Bathurst) to generate article topics and co-ordinate on the style of writing. We also expect the person the have a passion for either lifestyle/home furnishing or travel and to understand how to write/use social media. They should also have good knowledge of the web and online content and a keen interest in the user experience
