Passion is key to everything you do and if you are passionate about the environment and want to be a part of a program that informs our viewers on the issues that matters, you will be a great fit for this program.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Host should have some television experience or knowledge; enrolment or graduation from an accredited post secondary institution with a broadcasting degree/ diploma is preferred, but not necessary.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental topics is considered an asset.
- Volunteer must have access to transportation, in order to get to the Newmarket Studio or a respective shoot location.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Ability to memorize scripts and also be able to deliver scripts with competence and ease
- Flexibility of schedule. Candidates must be available during the day with some weekend availability as required.
- Commitment to the program that begins late summer (August 2010) and continues into early Spring 2011.
- Must contribute to the production by actively looking for story ideas that fit with the theme of the show and assist the producer with following up on story leads
- Candidates must be available to receive a script on Mondays and be prepared on Tuesdays to shoot the show. There may be some flexibility on the days which can be discussed with the producer at an audition.
- The position would start in early August 2010 and requires a weekly commitment until Spring 2011.
- All volunteers must complete and sign a volunteer consent form; new volunteers must participate in a mandatory volunteer orientation session as well as training sessions with the producer.
If you are currently assigned to a program, you must consult with Michelle Lynch before accepting a position with A Greener York. All volunteer positions will be re-evaluated at the end of 2011.
Auditions (approx 15 minutes) will take place on Wednesday July 28th, 2010 from 9:30am to 6pm in the Newmarket Studio (395A Mulock Drive – behind the Town of Newmarket municipal offices).
