About HMO
Health Mission Outreach (HMO) is a Canadian charity organization that aims to provide opportunities for both health care professionals and those in need. Our vision is to provide access to health care to everyone in need at home and around the world in essence to value human life.

HMO regularly holds free dental and medical clinics here in Toronto at various locations plus we take our medical expertise abroad to Brazil and Paraguay.

Student Responsibility
•updating HMO media package/kit
•Writing Press releases
•social media management and messaging
•accompany mission and document experience
Student Benefits
•Receive hands on training in media- press releases, on-line blog discussion groups and twitter media
•Gain an understanding of news production for newspapers, television and the web
•Produce high quality articles and opinion pieces suitable for your portfolios
•Attend an expenses-paid week in Paraguay
•Help people at home and abroad by sharing their stories in the social media and print

Eligibility
•You must be over 19yrs
•You must be a student currently enrolled in either a journalism or communications program, or a graduate of these studies
•You must demonstrate a strong writing ability, and a passion to serve those in need
•You must be available to travel outside Canada
•Bilingualism, in Spanish or other languages is considered an asset but is not required

How to Apply
•Submit a resume indicating any journalism experience, e.g. school or campus newspaper, yearbook, photography, relevant courses.
•Submit 2-3 additional writing samples (maximum 500 words each), preferably written in journalistic style. These samples do not need to have been published.
