The Young Social Entrepreneurs of Canada (YSEC): Who are we?
The Young Social Entrepreneurs of Canada (YSEC) is a community hub that brings together community organizers, activists and entrepreneurs helping them focus their energies and tailor their ideas to create systemic groundbreaking change. We offer programs and services to guide them in the process of turning their vision of a better world into their full-time vocation. We believe that a well connected community of changemakers will revolutionize the way in which we create social and environmental value and transform our communities.
YSEC’s re:Vision Conference: What’s this about?
In March 2010, YSEC will bring together the top 100 young changemakers in Ontario - an elite mix of leading community trendsetters, many of whom are on their way to establishing social enterprises. They’ll connect with experts in social change and learn how to build innovative, high-powered initiatives that make a tangible, sustainable and widespread impact in their communities.
Changemakers’ Profiles: What’s the story?
For this conference, we are organizing a small team of photographers, video editors, videographers and writers who will capture the passion and innovation behind 10 of Toronto’s powerful young changemakers in stills and a short video that will be displayed in the Metro Hall rotunda, where we start both of our days. The footage will also be used as teasers before our conference.
We are looking for: Camera Person
Skills:
- A great camera person who can work with the interviewer and provide us with good footage.
Time Commitment (7 hours):
- Film a get together of the 10 changemakers (3 hours);
- Film the group photo-shoot (4 hours);
- Film 5 minute interviews with all changemakers after the photo-shoot (time accounted).
Most of all, we are looking for someone who would really enjoy the opportunity of getting the stories of young people with initiatives that are creating change in our city.
When?
This project will start on Feb. 14th 2010 and the deadline for submitting the final pieces is after each shoot. The deadline for applying is Feb. 7th 2010.
Compensation: This is a volunteer position
- Picture and Biography on conference website with link to personal website;
- Free attendance to Evening Keynote Speakers;
- Attendance and recognition at Closing Ceremonies of the Conference.
