Eastern Eye - unpaid

Do you want to get published and build your portfolio for your future? Then join a new south asian, English language, community newspaper, Eastern Eye, that has roots in the UK. Already a success in Europe, this new venture into Canada will require writers who can re-write wire copy within 48 hours. We are looking for great writers who have discipline when it comes to deadlines.

This is a weekly free circulated newspaper and will become a premier newspaper in the south asian community. This English language paper will cater to young south asians, covering news that pertains to Indo-Canadians. If you can turnaround wire copy and don't need to be reminded of your deadline, then you are a perfect fit for us.

Writers must have access to their own internet and will be required to commit to conference calls once a week. This is an part-time position, which requires you to work approximately 10 hours per week. If you want to get a job out of school, then start building your portfolio now! It's better to be a big fish in a small bowl instead of a small fish in a big bowl!

This is volunteer unpaid internship.

The deadline for applications is Feb 1st for winter term, May 1st for summer.
