KMI Publishing and Events has an immediate opening for a journalism student intern.
The candidate should have successfully completed at least one year of (university) journalism study, and have the ability to work a minimum of one full day (9am-6pm, with 1 hour for lunch) each week. The role would be responsible for producing news articles, both for print and online, along with other editorial-related projects and tasks as required. These may encompass photo library support, market/product research, fact-checking, editorial planning, and more.
The right candidate may also be given the opportunity to write feature articles, some of which may appear in our highly-regarded consumer publication, Canadian Real Estate, and our new title, The First-Time Homebuyers Guide.
Our magazine titles vary, and include both trade and consumer titles covering real estate, mortgages and the liquor industry.
This is a permanent part-time position for someone with initiative, drive and energy. The successful applicant will receive payment to cover their transport and lunch costs, and will also be eligible for a quarterly bonus payment upon successful completion of set tasks. Long-term, the successful applicant may be considered for permanent employment with KMI, depending on how they perform and job availability, amongst other considerations.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply by email to Simon Parker at simon.parker@kmimedia.ca . In your cover letter and/or email, please indicate that you are responding to this (intern) advertisement.
